Joel Campbell to speak about "Sunshine Laws in Utah Government."

Rosemary Cundiff Records Management, Training

Joel Campbell will speak about “Sunshine Laws in Utah Government” at a Utah State Archives brown bag lecture on Thursday, April 21, 12 noon to 1 p.m.  As evidenced by recent public reaction to House Bill 477, open records laws are important to Utahans. Providing quality access to public information is a core mission of the Archives.  Whether you are a government employee or a member of the public, please take time out of your day to join the Archives and Mr. Campbell for this timely discussion. Utah State Archives is located at 346 South Rio Grande Street, Salt Lake City.

Mr. Campbell is an associate professor in multimedia journalism in the Department of Communications at Brigham Young University. He teaches media writing, journalism principles, and research courses. He holds a master’s degree from Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He actively researches First Amendment and Freedom of Information issues and is past president of the National Freedom of Information Coalition and past chairman of the Society of Professional Journalists.
