Series 26017 – Governor Leavitt 2K2 Program Records

2K2 was created by Governor Michael Leavitt as a non-profit organization to provide consulting services and hosting support to the state during the 2002 Winter Games. These records contain correspondence, program materials, planning materials, and publications. These records have been digitized and are available here in our Digital Archives.

Series 25636 – Governor Leavitt State Olympic office subject files

This series contains a wide variety of records that provide background and documentation of the administration activities that took place in the planning and preparation for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. There are a wide variety of records present including correspondence, planning committee minutes, summaries of events, contracts, photographs and audiovisual material created or received during Governor Leavitt’s terms of office. Series 27484 – State Olympic Coordinator Reports

This series contains reports created by the State Olympic Officer to provide summaries, tables and statistics on the economic, demographic and fiscal impact of the XIX Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City held in February 2002. With the host city chosen in 1995, an office was set up under the Governor to study the project impacts, with several reports eventually released.
